I have always been fascinated by photographs. I love that you look at a picture and can be transported back in time to when the photo was taken. Or that you can look at old photographs and they give you an insight into a time before you were born. I love that a photograph can take you to a place you have never been; a wedding you couldn’t attend; or remind you of the baby your teenager once was.

I am captivated by dark rooms. Not just any dark room but the ones where you develop pictures. I am held spellbound by the process of putting a piece of paper in chemical and all of a sudden you have an image. A moment of someone’s life captured forever. I always thought it was amazing to be able to do that and now, with digital photography, I literary spend hours in front of the computer playing around with images. I love that the technology available now enables me to ‘finish’ the process. I feel it allows me even more creativity with the images I shoot.
