I’m not one to really celebrate, but as I get older I feel that it is important to look back and reflect.
Today marks 21 years since I walked into register Blueclick Photography as a business in Sydney.
Can’t help to ponder now on the dreams of doing photography as a career.
I think at the time it was just the idea of taking photos as a job, not so much as a business but you know the saying
“Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” and that is exactly how it feels even now 21 years later.
I always had an interest in photography and my memory of my first camera back in 1988 was a 110 skinny film camera,
not exactly what I had asked for but it was a camera and we were moving to Australia and my parents bought me that as a gift.
Since then my cameras have evolved (thank god) and so has my photography.
If I had to pinpoint what type of photography I liked the most it was studio work, advertising, lifestyle magazines, and portrait work.
I did daydream a lot about that, every time I picked up a magazine or weekend lifestyle mag in the newspaper, I thought to my self “I want to do that”.
Through the years I have been able to fulfill those dreams and for that I’m thankful, but I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t also for all of those that
believed in me, that took a chance with me, that encouraged me, and also those that became customers trusting me with their memories.
I know that in particular with families, the images become part of their history and that is a special feeling.
Thank you so much to every single one of you !!
I’m forever grateful for the opportunities I have had, the people I have met, the places I have been, let there be much more photography magic and captures.
