Q – Tell us about your business (what product or service you provide )
We create gorgeous designs in fresh, dried and quality silk flowers for any occasion with a large presence in the wedding and events sector. Most recently expanding into Styling, co-ordination and event furniture & decor hire with my business partner Deb in Stella By Design.
Q – What’s the best advice you have received in business that you wish to pass on to others?
Outsource where you can (like bookkeeping, admin, graphic design work etc) to free up your time to do what you do best in your business
Q – What one thing have you learned as a small business owner that has served you well over the years?
Offering consistently good customer service. My clients are so important and their return business over the years I think is not so much about the product but the service we offer and effort I put into building relationships, even if it’s a 10 minute phone call for 1 small bunch of flowers.
Q – Are there any resources or tools you’d like to share with other small business owners that have helped you run your business?
Social media and graphic design hurts my brain and pulls me away from my work bench creating florals so last year I decided to get help via Kate Dunne Creative to help me create content and I have started using Planoly for both business Instagram accounts to schedule posts in batches.
Q – What do you do for fun/relaxation?
Palm trees and feet in the sand vitamin D is probably my favourite thing ever but I love a walk/hike and brunch with friends or a good night out with the girls and cocktails and of course little adventures with my 7 year old son
Q – And something on the fun side of things, what’s your party trick or secret talent?
Ohhhhh I’m too shy for party tricks and no secret talents I can think of !
