Tell us about your business (what product or service you provide )
I am a Social Media specialist helping businesses rock their Social Media marketing. Depending on the particular needs of a business when it comes to their social media marketing efforts I help by working 1:1 with business operators and develop an effective Social Media Strategy; conduct Training and educational workshops; and/or provide Social Media Management services.
What’s the best advice you have received in business that you wish to pass on to others?
Never give up – life is about learning, failing, falling hard and getting back up again. Our greatest achievements generally arise from the mistakes we make during the most challenging periods of our lives.
What one thing have you learned as a small business owner that has served you well over the years?
Never compare yourself to others or see them as competitors. Stay in your lane, be true to yourself, walk your talk and you will attract your ideal customer. As the saying goes “your vibe attracts your tribe”.
Are there any resources or tools you’d like to share with other small business owners that have helped you run your business?
I have an endless list of amazing tools I could share, but for the purpose of this post, I will focus on three tools that will help a small business operator create awesome content for their social media channels and build a subscribers list. I use all three on a daily basis with my clients. To easily create professional social media graphics without having to use a graphic designer I highly recommend Easil which is a drag-and-drop design tool that helps you create visual content so good, it looks like a pro designed it – it is the perfect tool for not only your social media, but all your general marketing collateral i.e. event posters, menus etc. For creating videos, which is very important in Social Media, my go-to tool every day is Wave.video where you can easily create videos at scale for your social media, emails, website, and blog with just the one tool (they have an enormous video and photo library you can use). For anyone wishing to start using Wave.video I have a great discount code available on all premium plans, just hit me up in private messenger For those wishing to harness the amazing power of Facebook messenger marketing, I highly recommend Manychat. This is an amazing tool to connect with your audience and build a solid subscribers/email list. Always remember, social media platforms are built on rented land. A solid strategy would be to not put all your eggs in one basket and ensure you have a means to connect with your audience should you find yourself no longer able to access a platform and the connections you have built.
What do you do for fun/relaxation?
I love traveling, hiking, cycling, diving, but the reality is I haven’t done much of any of that lately and if COVID-19 has taught me anything is that you really have to embrace life and make the most of it. I’m definitely planning on shaking things up a bit, not spending as much time behind a computer and start prioritising time in my life to get back to doing more of the recreational things I love
And something on the fun side of things, what’s your party trick?
When I lived in Japan I loved going to Karaoke and would surprise any Japanese national that I was with when I started belting out a Japanese song fluently – there was only one I could sing well, but they didn’t need to know that haha
