If there is something that makes my heart sing it’s Pin up style photography, I love the colours, the playfulness, the happiness , so when I got the chance to shoot a fashion editorial going with this style was a no brainer, it’s what I love doing . Like the title says it, classic looks never go out of fashion. We are very lucky in Cairns to have quite a few stores that provide this style for the everyday woman .
The shoot was done in the studio and I went with just blues to keep the theme running, my new flamingos made an appearance and besides that kept the props to a minimal as it was more about the fashion.
Hair and make up was created by Shae from Tropical Beauty : www.tropicalbeauty.com.au , the models were Bailee O’Neill who a couple of years ago was the Face of Cairns Central shopping centre, beautiful girl inside and outside, and her also cute boyfriend Xavier McKinley was our male model.
Normally Gerlinda from Gerlinda Styling is going around picking up the clothes and accessories but unfortunately she was busy with family matters in the Gold Coast as her Mum was very ill, so she managed to help out over the phone and off I went to pick and choose outfits from Bella Forma lingerie (large range of dresses/swimwear/lingerie) on Grafton St, as well as Dearl Pearl Vintage , Vintage Seeker and got a couple of earrings and brooch from Eggplant and Poppy all of them located on the Oceana Walk , Grafton St in Cairns , shoes were collected from the Novo store in Cairns Central as well as the outfit for Xavier from YD. store, the staff were super helpful there.
So here it is as it was printed in the Cairns eye magazine inside the Weekend Cairns Post.
